My first project, “To Eat to Live or to Live to Eat,” is my personal response to the article, “The End Of Food,” by Lizzie Widdicombe. Her essay takes us into the details about a young entrepreneur’s invention, Soylent. Soylent is a bland runny paste that holds all necessary vitamins for life and its creator envisions the world using it as a way to replace all food. In my essay I explain that I do agree that Soylent could be used to feed the malnourished communities of the world and as a quick meal for busy people on the go, but we cannot let the significance of food leave our lives. Food represents holidays, religions, cultures, family traditions, and many other aspects of life.
