“The Art of Quoting” 

This chapter showed the significance of quotations and how quotes can make or break your work. Too many quotations can show a lack of confidence from the writer, since they are not using their own words or opinions. Too little quotations can show laziness, as if the writer was too lazy to look back on other texts. Make sure the quotes you use are relevant to your paper and always explain the quotes but do not over analyze. The best way to explain a quote is to make a “quotation sandwich”. A quotation sandwich has a top, a sentence introducing the quote, a middle, the quote, and the bottom, a sentence explaining the quote. Quotations make for an effective argument because It provides credibility and evidence to your opinion as well as the opposing opinion.
